A portable humidifier worked well for about 5 years is a failure.

Engage and the fan runs at full speed. The filter is clean. The digital displays are working, and seems very good.

However, the air is just cool (not cold as I expected), and the drain hose is dry after a few hours.

If I control the back cover, black pot (capacitor?) It is very hot, although there is no burning or recording. All cables seem intact, with no fraying or Kinks.

The copper line from the black cartridge for "grill" on the front are cool but not cold.

Thoughts? It would be a loss of freon to be visible? Are there any retailers who can recharge the freon (or simply A / C repairmen?)?

It is a Maytag, manufactured by Fedders. I can not find an online manual for troubleshooting.
